Future Architecture Is—
Created by Sharon Chang in 2025, this space exists to:
- Offer historical and conceptual grounding for future architecture
- Support emergent communities of practice
- Share case studies of co-created futures
- Evolve pedagogy through lived experience
Sharon coined the term future architecture in 2015 to describe a future-oriented design practice rooted in systems thinking. At its core, it applies an architect’s mindset—designing for potential—to address complex societal challenges.
Future architecture is still taking shape. Yet one principle remains central: the weaving of personal transformation into social transformation, fueled by a deep recognition of our interconnectedness.
The journey begins within—intentionally designing one’s inner architecture. From that place, we expand our capacity to build healthier relationships, communities, and systems.
The outcome isn’t a building, but a shared future—a thoughtfully imagined and collaboratively created reality.
